This website is strictly educational and only promotes responsible exotic animal ownership. All information and pictures shared on here are for educational purposes. Foxes are unique animals; they can make very special companions. They are not easy by any means and demand a lot of time, patience, responsibility, knowledge, interest and passion. Doing as much research as you can is a major must before even thinking of adding a fox to your family. Hopefully this website can help you learn more about their antics, special needs, diet, containment requirements, legalities around the world and so on, so you can, after thoroughly researching and reading every bit of information you can find online, decide whether a fox is or is not suitable for you and your family.
Remember, you do not change the fox's lifestyle to fit yours, you change your lifestyle to fit the fox's.
After reading the following pages, you might feel discouraged in regards to fox ownership. I won't sugar coat it; I try to show the worst possible scenarios in order to hopefully prepare prospective owners to the fullest for their future fox. Hands on experience remains the best option. Having a fox can be a wonderful experience if and only if you know what you are doing and have done extensive research prior to getting it (as with any animal, after all). All the tremendous amount of effort you put into them ends up being extremely rewarding in the end.
Please note that I do not encourage getting a fox as a pet, as they are extremely high maintenance animals that are generally much harder to handle than a dog, requiring much more in installations, knowledge, nutrition... I know, however, that if someone is set on getting a fox, they will eventually manage to do it. I created this website in the hopes that it might help those people, and anyone else interested or curious, learn more about what foxes are like, what they need, and anything else related to their care and keeping. Please think responsibly; a precious life is in your hands.
